If you’ve ever wanted a Galaxy Note smartphone but don’t exactly have the cash to spend on the phone’s particularly high price tag, then you might want to take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite. Released earlier this February, the Note 10 Lite brings some signature Galaxy Note features at a more affordable price.

Hardware & Specs

The Note 10 Lite features a 6,7-inch Super AMOLED display, with a 1080×2040 pixel resolution. The display is surrounded by an all-plastic build, presumably to keep costs down. Underneath the screen is an in-display fingerprint sensor, as Samsung has decided to forego the traditional rear-mounted scanner set-up. Powering the phone is the Exynos 9810 chipset, coupled with both 6 and 8GB RAM versions. All versions of the phone come with only 128GB of storage though, but at least there is a handy microSD card slot available.

As far as the camera goes, you get a triple-camera set-up on the back of the phone which is composed of a 48-megapixel camera, 12-megapixel wide angle camera, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. On the front is a 32-megapixel camera which should take some decent selfies. The hardware has some downsides however, as the Galaxy Note 10 Lite lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, which means you’ll have to stick to using wireless headphones on this device.

The phone runs on a pretty decent 4500 mAh battery, which we suppose is enough to last a phone of this size and power for at least a day.

Software

The Note 10 Lite comes with Samsung’s fresh new One UI 2.0, which provides some usability tweaks to its original One UI interface. Of course this is layered on top of Android 10, so if you don’t mind a bit of software customization on your Android phone or if you’ve invested into Samsung’s ecosystem, then the Note 10 might be right up your alley.

Special Features

Of course what makes the Note 10 Lite stand out is the inclusion of the famed Samsung S-Pen, the defining feature of the entire Galaxy Note Line. Over the years Samsung has tweaked the S-Pen to provide more functionality and useful tricks, such as allowing you to remotely control media playback, as well as take down notes and memos without having to fully wake up the phone. Simply put, the Note 10 Lite is suited for productivity as well.

Should You Get It?

If you’re in the US and are willing to import it, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite will cost you around 599 Euros – there’s no word of a US release yet, but one can hope. For now, it stands as a somewhat-affordable alternative to the full-fledged Galaxy Note 10 devices.

  • I Have always admired Samsung phones, they have the best screen resolution and camera pixels and quality if you ask me. I am not a Samsung user but I am considering this new note. It has really unique features and I think I will get it for me and my spouse. It’s a really beautiful phone. Thanks for this post for outlining all the best and important qualities of this note, with this I don’t have to wonder what this phone is made of because I already know, I just have to go straight ahead and buy it.

  • I love my Samsung S8 and have looked at the Note 10 but decided I couldn’t justify the price tag. This Lite offering certainly looks interesting and costs considerably less. Am I right in thinking that the main difference is the lack of rear scanner and less storage than the 10 Note? 128GB is still a generous amount of space.
